Meridian 2016 - Indexing Issues

There is a known issue in Meridian 2016 that may affect how some users add files to the system.  If you are a user that likes to type in the indexing fields instead of using the lookup lists, this issue will affect you.  Please read on for the temporary workaround.
First, ensure the top of your Meridian windows looks says 2016U1.
When you have an ‘add’ wizard or ‘edit properties’ wizard open and are describing the document, you will need to do one or both of the following:
  1. Use the magnifying glass icon to select the values from lookup lists.  DO NOT TYPE IN THE VALUES unless you are in a magnifying glass look up list or type the entire value (see 2 below).
  1. Type the entire value from the drop down list into the indexing field until it auto-populates the field.  DO NOT TRY TO PICK FROM THE LIST WITHOUT COMPLETEING THE TYPING OF THE WORD.  This will freeze Meridian and you will have to open the task manager and force quit.
You can use a combination of these two workarounds, or just one.  As long as you don’t type partial values, Meridian will work just fine.
We apologize for this inconvenience.  Other Meridian clients are experiencing this issue as well and a solution is being worked on.
